Jesus's Journey to Easter

Helping your family grow in following Jesus, being changed by Jesus, and live on mission with Jesus this Lent Season

I love spring. I love watching everything come to life. The hills turn bright green, the fields become yellow, the air gets warmer and the daylight sticks around longer. It feels like new life and hope.

The springtime growth is beautiful, but it always gives way to summertime brown, crunchy, dead grass and dryness.

Isaiah 40:8 says "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever."

Life is full of changes - especially for kids. Seasons change. Bodies change. Grades go up and down. Friends come and go. As they grow and mature, one of the most important tools you can give them to navigate a changing world is a deep connection to the one who ever changes - the one who endures forever - Jesus.

At Easter, we celebrate that Jesus has conquered sin, death, and the devil. There is nothing in the world that is more powerful than King Jesus. And King Jesus is full of unending, unfailing, unchanging love, hope, and purpose for you and for your kids.

Over the next seven weeks leading up to Easter (the fancy church word for this time is called "Lent"), we want to partner with you to help you and your children strengthen and deepen your connections to Jesus!

Here's how:

Sign up to get a family devotion sent to your phone every day leading up to Easter. (It will only take about 10-15 minutes each day.)

Each day will have a story to read from the "Jesus Storybook Bible". (You can buy a copy here... or you can watch listen / watch the story in the videos linked to the devotion.)

Read the story (or watch the video), answer the discussion question, and pray together. Each day will have a bonus activity, if you're looking for a little extra.

If you've got older kids that want some extra challenge, there will also be a bible challenge to find and read a bible verse (level one) or passage (level two) to help dig deeper into the story and to build up their Bible navigating muscles. (We still recommend at least watching the video because it will fill in the details and background for longer stories.)

Sign up by clicking here or texting "@lent4kids" to 81010 to get your daily devotion sent straight to your phone. (Texts will be sent using the Remind101 app that the schools send reminders through.)

We're so excited to see how Jesus helps us grow as we take this time to spend with him each day!

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade." - 1 Peter 1:3-4
